  >>Some of my favourite songs played across last years!
When did the play...?

There are some classic songs that Jethro Tull didn't play since many time ago. They played some of these songs during last 15 years but only a few times and just in a few shows. Here you can see when they played songs like teacher, witches's promise... You can see in which boot you can find them and the quality of the sound.

They played TEACHER, BUNGLE IN THE JUNGLE, MINSTREL IN THE GALLERY in 1997 shows. There are a few boots with these songs and the best sounded boot I found is this one from Wallinford 8-aug-97.It's not a great or excellent sound but good enough. It also contains ACRES WILD and THE WHISTLER. Teacher is really great with much more flute. Bungle in the jungle and Minstrel were performed as a medley.See "Live at Wallingford" full setlist.

The "Curious Riff, 3-oct-95" bootleg contains WE USED TO KNOW. This classic song is in several shows but it isn't one of the most played. This bootleg is one of the best recorded of all, superb sound, almost official sound. I recomend it. See "Curious Riff" full setlist.

THICK AS A BRICK is one of the most played songs through the last 15 years but in 1997 they played a 15 min. version in a few shows with some parts not performed since early years. The best sounded boot from all this is "Live at the Opera House, Spokane, Washington 3-nov-97". This boot also contains THE WHISTLER in vocal version. The sound great, almost 10!
This Boot (At the amphitheatre Gelsenkirchen, Germany. 29-may-01) contains two great classics. LOVE STORY, performed in those 2001 tours and no played since many time, and SWEET DREAM released in the official cd "Living with the past" but in this boot version inclues "Kelpie" in the middle of the song. Both songs hasn't been played since then. The sound is excellent, may be 9 not 10. Probably the best of boots that contains these two titles.
One of my favourites songs is DHARMA FOR ONE. I haven't found it till 1993-1994 tours at the end of the shows. One of the best sounded boots from '93 is "A salmon farmer" and from '94 "In a Norvegian wood" . The version is different from this one played in just a few shows in 2001. In the boot (left cover image) "A spare pair, live at Foxwoods casino, Mashantucket, CT. 21-jul-01, we found a nice "Dharma" play including a flute solo. The sound in excellent.
This boot, "Live in Bonn 1999, Museumsmeile, Bonn, Germany. 4-jun-99" contains some of the great classics less played. The sound is quite good, almost excellent, mey be 9-10. It contains WITCHES PROMISE, brilliant version with more flute, TO CRY A SONG, and also Sossity you're a woman and reasons for waiting. For these last ones I'd recomend the next below ones.
This "A Salmon Farmer, Würzburg, Germany. 30-may-93" is one of a few best sounded boots from 93 and 94 tours. It cointains many songs but I'd recomend the two classics SOSSITY YOU'RE A WOMAN and REASONS FOR WAITING. Other great boots from this year are: "16-10-93 HELLOOOOOOO, live Apollo London" and "04-06-93 POSTCARDS FROM WOLFSBURG, KONGRESSCENTRUM, Germany"
In this excellent show, Lugano Estival Jazz, Switzerland 9-jul-05 we find the revisited song HYMN 43. They didn't play it since early years. They played this new version with a touch of Irish for first time in last 2004 tours. Jethro Tull performed the full Aqualung album (official release) and it's hymn 43 for a request of a radio station from Washington (XM radio). This Lugano show was broadcast on TV and this audio cd is excellent. Quality.-10!
